Lee Vegetarian has started out as a local food stand located in a market situated in Xindian District, New Taipei City since 1974. It always has been dedicated to follow the ancient methods of Japanese konnyaku food making and during the early days of limited transportation, the first generation owner worked hard to deliver the goods to each home by bicycle. Due to its excellent skills and practical services, Lee Vegetarian quickly established a good reputation among the vegetarian industry.
As a result, Lee Vegetarian continued to grow and expand to become one of the few large scale vegetarian factories in early Taiwan.
Heritage and Persistence, New Ways in Ancient Methods
Following a steady pathway with firm footsteps, in 2006, Lee Vegetarian passed its ownership to its second generation and expanded its factory, which lead to its establishment of Buy Chow Foods Co., Ltd., and moved to Yilan County, Toucheng Township, within the same year. General Manager Lee of the second generation has passed along the ancient heritage of the original Japanese konnyaku production technology as well as advocated the motto of “food manufacturing as a honest business.” This in turn led to the manager’s dedication on the selection of raw ingredients, new product development, and product regulation. In addition to its original konnyaku products, hundreds of other kinds of vegetarian products are developed and delivered to clients and consumers via low-temperature distribution to various major merchants, supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, organic foods stores, etc., which lead to a well reputable place on the food market.
